He has been waiting and waiting - for the snow to dissapear, for the sand to be swept away from his usual skatespots, for the weather to get warmer...
And now it's finally time! His skateboard can be used all over the place and not just in tiny areas, which happened to be free of snow and sand during winter.
Emil has been skating indoors this winter, but being outside is something special. He is so dedicated to this hobby of his, and we admire him for the time and energy he puts in working on his skills. Always training on a new trick and new moves.
So I think that it's up to us to support him in his heartfelt sport. We often go to bigger cities as they have better and much bigger facilities for skaters.
This photo - which I picniked and turned into the 60ties style - is from a skatespot we went to last week. We wanted to take some fine photos to use on Emil's invitations for when he is going to be confirmed. I like this one and several others, but as I'm not the skater expert, I will leave it up to Emil to decide which photos to use...
What a cool photo! You must be very proud of your sweet (if I am allowed to say this to a young man) son!

Sejt billede !
Hi Nina. :))
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your sweet words. :)) I am proud of Emil indeed. Must of all because of the person he is. :)) But I'm proud of his skating skills as well. He works so hard on it and loves it.
I hope that you are doing fine and that your sweet children are loving that spring is on it's way. :))
I sure miss your words here and on your blog, but I hope that you might return to blogging one day. And I totally respect that you have chosen to leave it. :))
Take care,
Ulla xxx
..............
Knus

Vilket härligt blogginlägg. Jag gillar också att snön börjar försvinna.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful photo...the first time I found your blog, you were writing about Emil and the new skateboard he had just gotten for his birthday. He looks really good, and it is so important to be proud of them, whatever their chosen hobby is...my children are just starting to take to form interests of their own, it is wonderful to see.
ReplyDeleteI miss Nina too!
i think it is great that he has this as a hobby. he is outside all the time, it can be social and it is a sport! what more could you ask for ;-) (much better than sitting on the computer all day log, thats for sure!!)
ReplyDeleteTusind tak, Bodil. :))
Rigtig god onsdag. :))
...............
Once more I have to write about Emil and his skating, Millie. ;)) It's a great part of our life and just ask me about something skate-y! I know the answer! ;))
How funny that he was the first thing you met when you started reading my blog. I'm so glad that you did start. :))
I remember the time when children start to figure out what they like to do. It's so amazing.
It will be funny to know what your children choose sometime in the future...
She's hard to be without that Nina - such a sweet and caring person. Let's hope that she returns in blogland one day.
Have a lovely Wednesday. :))
............
You are so right, Cat. :)) It's so important to be physically active.
Emil skates for several hours every day and loves being outside.
He's also very fond of gymnasthics (trampoline and that kind of stuff).
Sitting behind the computer is a part of his sparetime as well - I'm glad that he has other interests besides that. ;))
Have a lovely day. :))
