New birds have arrived at my house and I can't stop smiling when I see them....thanks to Andrea and myself.
Bengt & Lotta know exactly how to make things, which are different and yet simple. I'm growing more and more fond of black these days. (Now I only need to persuade my husband to agree with my idea: we must paint our frontdoor black!).
I know that this candleholder will please my eyes for many years to come. Don't you just know it right away when something has that effect on you?
Oh, it looks so nice, Ulla!
ReplyDeleteIt reminds me a bit of "The Bremen Town Musicians", a fairy tale recorded by the Brothers Grimm. Even if they were not only birds ;-)
I too love black, at least a bit here and there. Maybe due to the overdose of white with pastel colours on so many blogs... In general I prefer a happy mix of colours, even if pale blue and red are my favourites. I always need some contrasts - and black is perfect for that! And that goes for clothes as well...
Have a very sunny and inspiring day!
..............
That was my excact same thought when I saw the birds the 1st time, Juliane. Their position fit the story very well. :))
I love the elegance which black always represents - both in clothes, furniture and decorating. But as you say just a tiny bit is needed. ;))
Have a wonderful day too. :))
...............
Allerede lidt i ni!

Dear Ulla,
ReplyDeletethe candle holder is great indeed - and a nice thank you, too!
I also like your new photo! Now I can see more of you...
Kind regards Nina
thanks for the introduction to bengt and lotta....what wonderful things.......i love your bird candle holder and they do a fantastic moose one too.....unfortunately i dont think i can get it in england!
ReplyDeleteOoh I love them too. Like the way the wings are cut outs - really cute x
ReplyDeleteUlla, your birds are making me smile too! They are charming.

Ulla :))
..................
Dear Nina,
I'm happy that you like it. I'm so happy about it. :))
I had to get a new photo. At first I made it too big, but I think the size it has now will go. ;)
And I can see you and your sweet family too. It's always nice to get a face attached to the words. :))
Warm evening greetings
Ulla
.............
You are very welcome, elsy. :)) Aren't they just great?
The moose is nice too - I have a little cow candle holder too, and that's so fine as well.
Actually you CAN buy Bengt and Lotta's things in England. If you google DRIFTLIVING.CO.UK and then search for Bengt and Lotta, then you will see their gorgeous horse among other things. :))
..................
Thanks a lot, Amy. :)) They are made in such a simple way, but still they look so great.
They make so many other fantastic things - some of the fabric Lotta Glave has designed for Klippan is so awesome. :)
................
I'm really happy that you smile of my birds too, Katherine :)) I love it when things have that effect.
It must have been so great to design them! ;))
Skønne fugle ;)
ReplyDeleteDe laver altså nogle skønne ting de 2.
Yt.
Lovely...lovely...lovely... birds... sending you big hugs *Marie*
.................
.................
Thanks you so much, Marie :)) We share the passion for Bengt & Lotta, you and I. I remember that you have some gorgeous candleholders made by them too. :))
I hope that you are doing fine. :))
Big hugs from me too
Ulla
ooh I like it. my front door used to be dark red, and one day I painted it black. I really like how it looks, and any wreath you hang there really pops against the black. what color is your door now?
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot, Larissa. :))
ReplyDeleteI bet that your frontdoor looks gorgeous in black. And you are absolutly right about the fact that black makes the colors against it pop. We used to have a black fence, and I just loved how the flowers looked with the black in the background.
I'm still trying to make my husband convinced that it will look beautiful - instead of the white door we have now. ;))
