Now I have a little, new skuffedaruim. A new, old one that is.... In Danish we have the word skuffedarium which means a chest of drawers, but maybe that word is too much for such a tiny wooden box?
But never mind....
During my husband's childhood he has looked at this old box, with 3 transperant drawers. And before ending up in his childhood home, I guess it has had it's days of gloory in a cozy, little shop with supplies for crafting and embroidering women. But now it's mine...my mother-in-law thought that I would like it. And she was right - I love it!
As you can see it used to contain embroidery floss from the company named DMC. Now it has to contain my things.
I haven't really decided what to put into it yet, but I reckon that it will be my embroidery floos and other accessories for needlework.
But before that is going to happen, I have to give the wooden box a thorough cleaning. When it's all nice and clean I want to put some beautiful paper or wall paper in the buttom of the drawers. I think this could be very pretty or maybe this? Luckily I decide how it's going to look, so maybe I will give each drawer it's own unique look....
Maybe then it will be able to be called a skuffedarium... :)
Whatever you call it, it is a lovely wooden box.
Thank you so much, Jodie :)) I got so happy when my husband came home with it...it's suitable for a lot of tiny stuff in my sewing room.
ReplyDelete...............
...............
Det er da dejligt, Bettina. :)) Så var der noget om snakken. ;)) Skuffer havde den da i hvert tilfælde....
...............
Scuttle, scruff, scuffle, and darium, Skuffedarium. I love that word and I'm just going to keep all day long.
ReplyDeleteIt is indeed a funny word, craftivore. :)) I like it when words rhymes...
ReplyDeleteVery nice paper shops you have found! They all look great, so again it's time for wrapping papers or time to brighten up a skuffedarium (funny word).
ReplyDeleteKind regards dear Ulla,
Nina
P.S. I am looking for your "time for tea" post but it does not show up, whenever I try...
