I hope that my sister likes the shape of the dress too. I used the same pattern as I did on the 2 tunics, which I made in spring.
At first I thought that the straps seemed to make the neckline far too small - I actually was afraid that it wouldn't be possible to put it over my sister's head. Luckily Anne-Sophie tried the dress on...and she could get her head through! Then my sister definitely fits that part too.
I have 3 fabric covered buttons, which I'm going to sew onto the front of the dress. The fabric I used for them, is supposed to look like cross stitches...I really like that idea - to print it on instead of embroidering it.
How the buttons are going to look on the dress, I don't know...but hopefully fine.
Dear Ulla,
ReplyDeleteagain they are very nice your buttons, so one just has to copy that idea... thank you for it.
I wonder what this very sweet and summer light tunic does look like in a whole (or when being worn). It looks so nice, airy (can one say that?) just perfect for warm summer days as you said.
Your sister will like it, I'm sure about that and the buttons - please show the result, I'm curious as well.
You too have a nice Tuesday evening and thanks for your comment,
Nina
what a fabulous gift.thanks for introducing me to your blog and for your comment on my flickr pic.....i have taken up your suggestion about the colour...thanks
ReplyDeleteSnyggt!
ReplyDeleteLookes lovely ;-)
ReplyDeleteabsolutely gorgeous !
ReplyDeleteand i love the pretty buttons !!
i'm just back from vacations and how i wish i could sew , but my sewing machine broke down last month :(
Dear Nina,
ReplyDeleteI will never get tired of using fabric covered buttons, and if I can passs that on, it's just great. ;))
I will see if I can make Anne-Sophie try on the dress. Then you can see it on. I think it's airy - yes, one can say that ;)) - with all that width.
I hope my sister likes it - it's a surprise dress for her. :))
Have a nice day...
Ulla :)
.............
You are very welcome, elsy - and I'm happy that you found my blog as well. :)
I will look forward to see the result of your fabulous embroidery... :)
.............
1000 tak, Anna :) Jeg håber, at min søster synes det samme. ;))
.................
Thanks a millon, Gitte. ;))
.................
Thank you so much, Valerie.
I hope you had a wonderful holiday with your loved ones.
Too bad that your sewing machine is broken. I hope you get it done soon - then we all can enjoy your beautiful work again.
ReplyDeleteDu laver vidunderlige ting, Ulla!!
