And now it's red!

- Do you know what I saw when I walked through town the other day, mom?? Our pocket dress in red! That's what Anne-Sophie said to me the other day.

And by saying our pocket dress, she means the classic Marimekko Ilonen Takki dress designed in 1960. Happy coat is what the name of the dress translates to in Danish, and what an appropriate name. It does makes me happy when I wear it. (I have worn it so much, that I have thought about buying myself a new one in black again). Children always love to look in my many pockets, and they think it's so funny that the dress has small pockets and big pockets.

If I got it in the new red design - Kurkistus tunic - it would certainly make me even more happy. So it's actually not an if I get the dress - it's when I get the dress. And with Christmas ahead a red dress is practically an essential part of a woman's wardrobe. At least that's what my husband must know when I show him the dress. ;)

I know beforehand that I will wear it over and over...even after Christmas!

By the way - I need to tell you that the classic dress also comes as a spencer now. It looks like this...can you see that it doesn't have any sleeves?

    Dear Monique,
it's also very nice to read your comments and posts. They are always so full of life and warmhearted. :))

I have had a lot of joy wearing my black Marimekko dress with pockets, so I just know that a red one would be fabulous to have as well.

More tulips are on my shopping list for tomorrow. I will plant them as soon as possible, and look forward to seing them pop up next year. :))

I hope that you will get a wonderful weekend too, Monique. :))

    ..........

  8. Dear Nina,
they are great those dresses aren't they? I have loved my black and grey one so much. :))

I don't know whether the German Marimekko shop have the dresses, but it would be strange if they don't. Otherwise I know that you can buy the spencer in this Danish shop:
    http://www.intera.dk/shop/
Do remember that VAT will be added.
And they have the pocket dress for little girls as well. ;))

I hope that you got my mail. I surely enjoyed the one you sent me. :))

    Have a lovely Tuesday,
    BIG hugs,
    Ulla XX

I'm happy that you like the Marimekko dresses, Larissa. They are absolutely fabulous to wear. I always feel well dressed and happy in mine.
And isn't that a fine argument to buy one in red? I sure think so. ;))
