Yesterday Otto wasn't my favourite name...

Because my beloved dog decided to put his paws and teeth in my lovely custommade cardigan, which I bought several years ago (for 2000 Danish kroner) from knit designer Christel Seyfarth.

OTTO

I was NOT pleased at all. Sadly there is nothing I can do about the many holes in the cardigan. I can't seem to figure out any way to save it...
So, if any of you have a great solution, then do let me know.

Yesterday Otto wasn't my favourite name... by lille-ursus

Actually I'm mostly annoyed with myself for leaving the cardigan in a place where a curios and happy dog was attrached to it.

The most ironic part is, that I took of the cardigan when I was going to give Otto food. I didn't want him to pull out a thread of yarn!

  6. Oh no. Oh no. Oh no. This is terrible. Just awful - hope your dog is fine... LOL!!

BUT - you could knit one yourself. This pattern is exactly the same as in your cardigan: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/peony-sweater

Seyfart may have copied that pattern...

    Good luck!!

  7. Unbearable - so much work to shreds... what a pity.

  9. Ohhhhh, OTTO! I don't know what to do about it, maybe you make something out of it? I know it wont be the same not to wear it as a cozy, warm and beautiful cardigan but still...

I hope apart from the unhappy day you are doing fine my dear.

Sending warm wishes and hugs to you,

    Nina

  10. naaaaiiiii...! øv, dumme hund! ihvertfald lige i dag - og måske også lidt i morgen :O(

Der er ikke andet for: Du må ha' fat i en ny... altså ikke en ny hund, men en ny cadigan. Simpelthen ;O)

    .............

You are so right, Cille. :)) That was the exact look he had after the the cardigan was taken away from him. I tell you, that he would have loved to keep it for another little while. ;))

    ................

Ooooohhhhh yyyyyeeeeesss, Claudia! The cool factor was way below zero, when I found out that he had my beautiful cardigan in his mouth. ;))
I wonderf how on earth he got to make so many holes in so little time. But now i will try to make the best of what's left. :))

    .............

Thank you so much, Geraldine. :)) He is such a loving and caring dog, and I love that dog. (Eventhough he can be annoying).

And you are right, nothing can replace Otto. He and I are a lot together during the day - Iit's nice to have some company while they others are at work and in school. :))

    ...............

It was an amazing cardigan, Oiyo. I have used it so much. It's perfect for the period of time when summer turns to autumn, and winter turns to spring. :))

But maybe I should see this as an opportunity to get a new piece of knitwear. :))

    ...............

It was bad for sure, Lone. Otto didn't loose a tooth or something like that during his act of "crime". ;))

It's really nice and funny that you mention the pattern from Solveig Hisdal (I love her book). I have wondered whether it wasn't the same pattern used for her sweater. christel Seyfarth must have been highly inspired by that.

Anyway thanks a lot for the idea to knit a new one. :))

  13. It is a pitty, Sidsel. I bought the cardigan about 5 years ago. I didn't buy it as a kit, but as a finished cardigan which was made by order, so luckily it isn't the result of many, many hours of knitting by hand.

But it must have taken quite a lot of time anyway with all the pattern and details. :))

    .................

    ..............

Otto did a bad move that day, Nina but it was hard to blame anyone but myself in the end.

I will try to make something out of it. There are still some pieces which are untouched, so I will try to create something from them and maybe some other materials.

Besides that i'm fine. A bit tired though. I didn't go to sleep before 6 in the morning, because I waited for Anne-Sophie to text me from L.A. They have arrived and were so happy to be there. :))

Next week Emil is off school on autumn break. I look forward to that.

I hope that you are all doing great, and that the 2 kindergarten children are loving it.

    Take care
    Lots of hugs
    Ulla :))

    ................
