Did anyone say Donuts??
So when I saw this fabulous fabric from Michael Miller here, there was no hesitation from my side. This I had to have.....
So, now it has arrived - I have so many ideas for what to make out of it. Maybe something round with a hole in the middle...

Fiona.....like the rest of you
I'm not making this beautiful pattern by Rasmilla for anyone. I simply had to try it out in a little size 2. I bought the pattern ages ago, and has been trying to find an excuse to knit it. But now I don't need one....
When will I ever learn not to start a zillion projects?

An old one returns
I liked the fact that it was a bit special, and the animal pattern just took me by the heart. It looked great and I knew that it would be funny to knit.
So I got the pattern and the yarn, made it and Emil wore it as long as he could fit into it. Later on my sister's girl Emma borrowed it and lately it has been used by a nephew of ours.
Actually I had completely forgotten about it for a while, but when we got it back the other day, I remembered how Emil looked in it with his little fat cheeks in the hooded cardigan.
Now I think that I will try to find the pattern. Maybe I feel like knitting it again sometime in the future...

Vintage pattern
The other day I bought this fantastic vintage pattern at Sandritocat. It's an old Butterick pattern from the 60ties, but I think the shape of the tunic/dress is so up to date. The simplicity and the a-line is just what I love.
I adore looking at patterns for women's dresses from older days - especially the beautiful ones from the 50ties. They are so elegant. And the children's clothes patterns make me remember some of the clothes my mother sewed for me in the 70ties, when I was a child.
You should definitely have a look at the etsy shop, if you would like patterns, which aren't used by everyone...

With lots of room for swivelling
I finished the little Christmas skirt. I used a new - and to me unknown pattern - which had lots more width than the ones I have made before.
But at least that leaves the possibility for swivelling. Oh, how I enjoyed doing that when I was little. And the fact that the skirt has a - pink - lining, gives it more weight.
I still love the tree fabric SO much....

While I'm....
"Our love is no ordinary love. It has a history that spans a million years. It has a future that has no end. It has strength and wisdom. It is supporting and understanding. It is growing and learning. Our love is not bound by time, or space or mortal failings." ♥ These fine and loving words were given to me by my daughter - they filled my heart with so much joy and made me very proud. Proud of my little 17-year old poetry loving daughter and proud of being a mom.

LAZY DAYS SKIRT sew along
Now you might think that I'm a lazy sewer, with nothing to show you...but my camera is in Sweden! I'm making a couple of Lazy days skirts and hope to show them to you tomorrow...At least I can show you the fabric I'm using.
P.S. Remember this book? I recieved my copy of the book "Det er ganske vist" a few days ago, and I'm thrilled. It's a really fine book with many original ideas.

Dizzy Mizz Lizzy - 11:07 PM
If you pass by my house these days, you will probably hear this song - a bit too loud. I have loved it for ages, and so does Anne-Sophie now. Dizzy Mizz Lizzy, the children off from school and holiday...who can ask for more on such a sunny autumn day? Have a wonderful Tuesday...
And for a very brief moment we hoped to get tickets for one of the reunion concerts with Dizzy Mizz Lizzy....but no! They were already gone :(

Don't you ever get lost in the past?
I remember that it is taken the summer Anne-Sophie broke and crushed her elbow - right before starting in school for the very first time - at the age of 6.
She fell from a climing frame on a vacation in Skagen, and had to go through an operation. My parents came all the way to look after Emil, so we could be at the hospital with Anne-Sophie.
When my parents saw Anne-Sophie the next day, they brought her the sweet brown teddy bear. He had to have a name, and what was more obvious than the name of the sweet doctor who operated on her elbow? So Peter Helmig is was (and yes, the doctor is the brother of another wellknown Helmig).
This little fellow caught my eyes on the the wall too. Emil wasn't more than 3-4 years old when he sold flowers he had picked in our garden. We knew that his grandparents would pass our house that afternoon, so there he sat, waiting to sell some beautiful flowers. I was standing behind the door, ready to assist him (and look after him...).
Oh, how I love to get lost in the past for a minute or two.....Don't you?
