Pale pink Daffodils??!!

Last fall I bought some bulbs of daffodils at Isabella Smith. They were going to be pale pink, a very flattering thing if you ask me.... When I recieved them in the mail, I carefully put them in the ground - just outside our kitchen window, so we could enjoy the beautiful sight when they bloom in spring...

Then it was time to wait........all winter. Gradually they grew green and big - they even managed to pick themselves up after some hard nights of frost.

The only thing they couldn't do was to turn pink! See for yourself above, they are all yellow!!

Such a dissapointment, but it was almost too good to be true to see Daffodils in pale pink!

I hope I will have more luck when I start using my greenhouse for real. It's just about 1 year ago since I got it for my birthday, and I did grow some wonderful tomatoes in it last summer.

I'm very excited about making my own plants and vegetables. And I just recieved a bunch of seeds of my beloved pea flowers. No summer without them.....

Not far away now

Yesterday I recieved a newsletter from "Saxo", which among other things told, that one of my favourite children knit designers, Lene Holme Samsøe, has a new book coming out in ultimo April.

I couldn't help feeling excited, becaused I think that wonderful and inspirering books about knits for children, are too few and far between here in Denmark...

I already have many of Lene Holme Samsøe's prevoius books on my bookshelf:

and in this one you can find fine and funny hats!

"HÆKlet" is full of beautiful things to crochet.....

Beauty, fine patterns and lovely photoghrapy is commen to all of Lene Holme Samsøe's books. I think - and can see - that some of her designs for children have become favourites for many knitting people in blogworld.

The new book is for children who fit size 2 to 10 years, and I hope to find some lovely stuff for Emil in it. It's called "Kæk og klassisk børnestrik 2 - 10 år" and I have pre-ordered one......
