I got presents too!!

Christian's birthday was celebrated in the morning with a nice breakfast, gifts, candlelights and lots of fabric flags. Of he went afterwards - the birthdayboy - to work untill eight o'clock in the evening. And then it was time to celebrate him some more.....Christian's parents and my parents came for birthdaybuns and - cake. Eventhough it was Christian who was the one to recieve birthpresents, I got some wonderful things too. My parents are so good at giving flowers to my sister and I, and yesterday was no exception......

Christian's parents gave me "flowers" as well - it just didn't come in the shape of flowers, but as this adoring little fellow. Christian's mother knows how much I love Medusa's figurines.

When everyone had left after a nice and cozy evening, I couldn't help feeling happy and very fortunate.

Only a few weeks ago we were all anxious and sad about my father and father-in-law being in hospital. But nevertheless we were able to be together again laughing, talking and enjoying ourselves.

Isn't that just amazing?

Another amazing thing is our very, very, very old hyacinth in our frontgarden....Do you remember how it looked a while back, when I told the little story about it's age?

This is how it looked this morning.....and I wish you could smell it too. Every time we go in and out our frontdoor the beautiful scent of hyacinth fills the air....

Along with the scent comes the feeling of spring.......

A new little dress

When it comes to sewing, this is what I'm working on at the moment...
It is actually made of fabric from a Christmas line for 2008, but who cares about that!! I don't - and I don't think "Christmas", when I see the checked patterns in red & pink.

( When I went to highschool pink & red was my favourite colour combination - and I found it rather "daring" at that time - back in the late 80ties!! )

At the end of the sleeves and at the neckline, I'm stiching on some ribbed fabric in black and white.

I love to do the handstiching and now I only have to finish another sleeve and the neckline.

Afterwards I'm going to make a button hole loop at the back of the dress - and find a suitable little button...

....and eventhough I have a zillion buttons, I just don't have the right one!!
