3 things . . .

. . .which made me smile today.

1.

The lovely and very handy pincushion which sweet Valerie made for me. I have found the perfect place for it. I always need a place to put my needles when I sew.

2.

The little arrangement in our livingroom. I adore the many different trays one can buy in IKEA. This is an old one, but it's a favourite anyway. And the plant remind me of these - I love, love, love those  little round pale pink flowers. I must remind myself to buy some seeds, so I can get them in my garden again.

3.

And finally this amazing dress from a knitting book I recently bought. It's called Mere Feminin Strik (More Feminin Knitting) and it's written by the always clever Lene holme Samsøe.

When I first flicked through the pages of the book,  I immediately fell in love with the dress (or tunic if you like). It's precisely what I would adore wearing to Emil's confirmation, and I have been searching high and low for it ever since!

So, now I hope that one of you out there knows exactly who it has been made by  - and maybe even where I can buy it. Okay, that's probably a bit too optimistic...

How on earth is it possible??

These shoes arrived from England yesterday. They are the ones which Anne-Sophie is going to wear with her 50ties dress at the gala. We bought them for her, but of course she picked them out herself.

I have never been good at wearing heels - at all! It's not that I can't walk in them, but somehow I don't think that such shoes suit me.

Nevertheless I think that heels are beautiful - and very stylish. And Anne-Sophie looked so lovely with her new high-heeled shoes on.

I asked her how long she will be able to wear them on that particular night in May, and will dancing come up at all? Anne-Sophie assured me that she would dance all night. "Don't worry mom, I have tried it so many times before". And she is right, she has lots of shoes with high heels in her closet.

So. Elegant she will be indeed, but her feet...I'm sure that they are ready for some very flat shoes when the gala is over!

A Wednesday in April

Today I got the lovely materials from Sort Lakrids. As always a kind and fast service from that shop.

I will start knitting the little cardigan today, because the Nova dress is now finished. Or should I say the knitting part is. I still need to sew on the buttons and weave in the ends. But that will not be today.

I really love the red Duo silk/ merino yarn for Christian's scarf. He hasn't seen it yet, but I'm sure he will love as well.

Our shopping day with Emil went so fine. He got some cool and beautiful clothes for his confirmation - everything bought in this shop.

Isn't it amazing? I thought that we were going to walk all around Århus all day long to look for his 2 sets of clothes and 2 pair of shoes.

By the way, he didn't get the purple ones, because he fell in love with these instead.

And a similar pair in black and white. He was so happy about it all and so grateful... That really touched me and my soft mommyheart.

We also found the fabric for Anne-Sophie's gala dress. We bought 5 metres of a beautiful and elegant coral colored fabric.

Now it's up to me to turn it into the fabulous dress Anne-Sophie has dreamt about...I hope that I can make her dream come true.
