Girly Girl lollipops and Simple Abundance Retro Dot Sky

How about it? These names are long and strange but nevertheless they reveal the most beautiful prints on fabric.... I have often wondered about how the fabric designers come up with ideas for their fabriclines, but never have I given it a thought how they come up with the names for the fabrics.

Girly Girl Bubblegum Lollipops fabric by Patricia Bravo is not the kind of colors I normally choose.

But there was someting about this happy blue fabric, which I simply couldn't resist. I think it was the pink and the blue against each other, and the need for bright and cheerful colors in the dark autumn days.

Simple Abundance Retro Dot Sky by Moda is in one of my favourite color combos: red and pale blue. And since it had dots too, I just had to have it...

I have lots of fabrics which will go perfectly with this fabric - and I'm sure that I will find a piece of fabric in my stash piles, which will match the Girly Girl Bubblegum Lollipops.

My parents-in-law recently returned from their holiday on Læsø - a Danish island.

As many of you probably already know, Læsø has a wonderful shop with lots of beautiful yarn and other desirable things. If you go to the island and want to visit the shop, then look for the name "Uldstuen".

Well, my mother-in-law definitely had to see the shop again, and while she was there, she bought buttons and soap for me.

I love soap - especially English and French soap. (I enjoyed looking at soap bars when I lived in London and had my weekly day off. The smell and beautiful wrapping...oh!)

The buttons I got were made from stone and horn. They all look beautiful and I think that the ones in stone will be fabulous on a knitted cardigan.

A scarf and a little dress

I wanted to make a little dress for an acquaintance of mine, who had a baby girl a few months ago. So I found this pattern in an Ottobre magazine - I needed size 74 cl.

The upper part of the dress is cut fairly high on the dress, and I kind of like that on this model. This and the fact that it's gathered in the middle, makes the dress a bit more copious.

I made the dress reversible - I'm rather fond of that at the moment - because I think it's smart and because it's warmer for a baby with two layers of fabric.

The fabric with the small flowers in different colors, is one whichI have used before. It's called Ginger Blossom. The bright one is a Japanese fabric and I simply love it - I have it in pale pink as well.

Making buttons on both sides is easy - I simply make sure that both pair of buttons have the same amount of holes.

Now I hope that the dress will bring joy....

My Baktus Scarf is also done. I only have to sew in the few ends of yarn, which the purple and pale blue stripes have left me with.

The scarf was easy-peasy to make, and I know that I will enjoy having the soft cotton yarn around my neck. Warm and cozy - just as I like it...
